Why we start every project with a feasibility study

Before we take on a full project, we do a feasibility study. It’s a small, paid piece of work — usually two to three weeks — and it’s the single best predictor of whether a project will go smoothly.
We look at three things: what the site and any existing structure will actually allow, what the brief really needs versus what it says, and whether the budget and the ambition are in the same room. Often they aren’t, and it’s much cheaper to find that out now.
What you get
A short document: a set of test plans, the planning constraints, a realistic cost range, and a recommendation. Sometimes the recommendation is to build less, or to wait, or to buy a different house. We’d rather say that early than eighteen months in.
Then a decision
With the study in hand you can commission the full design, take it to another architect, or stop. There’s no obligation to continue with us, and the fee is fixed regardless of what you decide.
